Reboot at Haute Cabrière Cellar Restaurant

After 16 years of fruitful collaboration with the Gordon Family, an era is coming to an end this month when they hand the keys of Haute Cabrière Cellar Restaurant back to Achim and Hildegard von Arnim. We are very grateful for the success we were able to share with Matthew and Nicky Gordon, and we are sad to see them go.
However, in every end, there is a new beginning and as Hildegard puts it "There are so many opportunities still to be realised at Haute Cabrière. Over the years, we have become an established food and wine destination here in the valley and we look forward to offering our visitors a new experience when the restaurant re-opens its doors just in time for spring under new management".
The restaurant staff will be taking their well deserved break in June, and the remaining weeks in winter will be utilised to create a new look for Haute Cabrière Restaurant, which is uniquely set into the side of Franschhoek mountain. "With its wonderful soaring arches and the view over the cathedral-like barrel cellar below, this venue has so many outstanding features that we would like to give more emphasis to." says Achim von Arnim. There is no doubt that his art will continue to play a vital role in the design.
As part of the new look, more space will also be created for guests to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful vistas over the Franschhoek valley. After the refurbishment, the restaurant will re-open in spring 2011. We look forward to welcoming you then!
